New Guy here so what I might say will carry little weight. As far as the commander goes, no one is obligated to donate gold so if people do then great and if people don't then great. Its only a matter of time before you make the amount needed anyway. Be it I believe that the said commander do most of the heavy lifting in the funds department.
I for one(my friends included which will be joining jade soon) love WvW and definitely already enjoy the guild so we would be very willing to help in funding... even at 1g per person, this is closer the 0g.
Also to add to comments of guild activities... please, PLEASE make that happen. My krewe and I were ready to switch servers cause we couldn't find the mix of people that we have now found in jaded. Weekend day dungeon runs or temple runs or drunken LA streaking nights whatever keep it going. You guys have already been very active and fun, like minded people. From the wvw to the arah masochistic death runs or just farming in CS, I have enjoyed myself.
TL:DR. Keep kicking that funky beat and having fun, and lets let the other servers know in WvW that [Jade] will fight for Darkhaven one command at a time.

I'm down with helping fund a commander that has a solid grasp of WvW and is willing to cooperate with the Alliance goals since they would represent our guild and teamwork helps Darkhaven. I also don't mind funding things for the betterment or morale of the guild as a whole either.
I think by just getting people involved in activities we get closer as a guild. I spend most of my time in one area, but had Grumblehand show and explain Orr/karma armor to me and we bonded over that. Blaades patiently took time to walk my jumping challenged norn through a puzzle as I was concentrating so hard that I missed Therkin's portal offer. I've yet to do dungeons or fractals but take comfort in knowing I could throw it out there on guild chat and people would be willing. Last night we had a large group in WvW and had a great time being Jadites and creating havoc together. (I think I now prefer you Sylvari keep your clothes on though).

I agree with flipping orr temples, its like a dungeon that everyone can participate in. Farming nights should also become something we do more regularly, they were lots of fun. Hanging out in vent killing stuff and joking around.
Also i likes parties and want more of them ;p and anyone is welcome to join kai and i for naked jormag bomb runs and hide and seek in LA. We have a blast! But everyone is more interested in being productive generally lol

I agree with trying to get farming parties going again. And the orr temples sounds wonderful especially after the big update some like grenth are really hard now and requires a lot of cordinated people

Due to the unpredictability (WHOAH BIG WORDS FTW) of the Orr temples we cant really set days and times to be on to participate.
Anyone have any suggestions to remedy this issue? Often I find ourselves in the middle of doing other things when these meta events happen. Etc.

Solution:
Don't plan for a specific temple.
I doubt there will ever be a day that every single temple is controlled.
We can just play which temple we do by ear, with maybe a preference for one if possible.

I'm fine with late mornings on either day. I need the morning to recover from the night before since my usual response to a rational bed time is "just one more fight!" Oh hai 4 hours later.  |
