Build link gw2skills.net/editor/?fUIQJASWlYgKC33xMEfIFS2jVCBVQrCAUVh4BTBGlRA;T4AZVCnkepiSZFFYGvEeZ7yBmsrVDDBmCAThis is really just a PvE build, since I have yet to PvP or try WvW. A GS or Hammer would be the main weapon with Staff for healing and support when in a group. I run with a mace and focus mostly when solo for extra healing. I'm looking at running the knights set for armor, may mix and match a little, still not certain yet. With this build I have good spike damage when using shouts and pretty decent damage while maintaining burning. Also with the buffs I have almost constant protection and retaliation. I'm able to swap around a few skills based on whats needed while still maintaining good damage and survivability. I can also swap to a more symbol buff build with a few trait skill swaps. My fights normally go With Hammer skills 2,7,9,2,(1,1,1,2) or (5,4 (play pinball ),2,1,1,1 if single target) can shout for more destruction, healing or protection if desired. With Great Sword skills 3,7,9,4,2,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,4,2,1,1,1 same as above with shout Use VoJ as needed to maintain burning. I'm really liking the build so far and plan to try it for a bit now that I'm 80 to see if it continues to work as an all around build. Let me know what you think, I'm still not set in stone on anything yet.

Looks solid to me I know you would love the 15pt trait in the Radiance tree: Renewed Justice. It refreshes the cooldown when you kill a foe. So when you run into mobs, you blind them all, burn one, smash them a bit, kill one, blind them, burn one, etc.... Thing is, I have no idea where to take the 5 points from to reach that trait. It's hard to go wrong with Knights Gear, but if you're really focusing on burning damage, maybe picking up some Carrion Accessories will help you with the bonus Vitality+Condition damage.

I noticed the same as Butch, about my build not being as group friendly as I would like, so I also made some changes to swap to for groups. This build uses my current trait paths, it just requires swapping skills and trait skills around for solo or group play. It won't hurt my normal damage and I'm still able to offer more to a group, so it seems like a pretty good all around build. gw2skills.net/editor/?fUIQJASWlYgKC33xKEgIFS2jVCBLJrCAUVh4BTBGlRA;T4AZVCnkepiSZFFYGvEeZ7yBmsrVDDBmCAHere are the advantages offered by this build. With SYG and SoJ, I can have about 80-90% up time for group retaliation or swap SYG with Hold the Line for some healing and Protection. Staff skills will give 6 stacks of Might and Swiftness for 12.75 secs each, along with some healing skills Elite skills offer 5 stacks of Might every ~6 secs for 16 Secs, and Fury for 16 Secs Can use Hammer skill 1.3 and 5 with 2 to get combo Buffs, not sure if they apply to all or just me. Unlimited Protection symbol if I just spam skill 1. Can switch to Hollowed Ground for Stability or Bow of Truth for Condition Removal and also Battle Roar for 2 Stacks of Might and Fury.

I like your set up, it has a mix of variety and still leaves some wiggle room if you wanted to.
I did some math on your set up and anybody can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anywhere. I'm all in favor of doing some retal because then anybody covered by it will be giving back some damage to the dealer and any damage is better than none.
With your traits set up the way they are, SOj would give 6.87 seconds, SYG would give 11.56, and each chain with the hammer would give 3.75. The good thing is you have 2 spammable set-ups with your hammer; Ring of Warding + Mighty Blow and your #1 skill chain + Mighty Blow. Imo, the best way to get the most out of your retal time would be to create a RoW then Might Blow then when the time is close to expiration shout, then do the hammer #1 chain for AoE retal then do the SoJ then rinse and repeat. If everything works well it should give approx 26 seconds of retal for one use of all the skills. So theoretically you should be able to keep a constant retal up if you don't switch off of hammer or stay off of it for too long.
The combo buffs from hammer chain #1-3 and #2 will apply to anybody in the area of effect.
I'm all in favor of having retal, but I think having some protection and regen is a good for you and your group. My suggestion would be to remove SYG and put in Hold the Line because SoJ gives weakness to enemy while giving retal to allys. The amount of retal time you would lose from SYG would be almost negligable because of the different skills that offer retal and the amounts of time they last.
Again, I like your set up the way it is because it does help the group more but also does something for you. Also, if you were to put in Hollowed Ground or Bow of Truth, which skills would you replace?

Ok, here is what I'm looking at doing for my Engi. gw2skills.net/editor/?fcIQFAUlIqCYn1SdF17IRoC2H0DAX37K6xjb8kB;T0AA2yqEQJpS1lyKqgMeJ8y2lLIZXjMAThis is going to be a FT build for the most part. With this build I can maintain 11 stacks of might just using Elixir B and Juggernaut. If I also use Elixir C, it will be 13 stacks. Not sure, but if Toss Elixirs works with HGH, then it can be 15 stacks of might with 100% up time for a boost of 525 Power and Cond dmg. I also would have an additional stack with 80% up time and the 2 extra stacks for the trait using an elixir at 75% Hp. So it could give me up to a 630 point boost of Power and Cond dmg, which would really be nice. The build also offers crit procs for bleed and vulnerability, with 10% increased crit chance on foes with less 50% health. Skill 7 is a floater, can be swapped with elixir gun for groups or goggles to help burn a single target and any other skill that is needed at the time. Still not sure if I should go Stabilize Armor or Energize Armor, just going to wait and see how much extra power it would give me once I get my gear finalized. As for stats, going to be stacking precision, vit, and toughness mostly with a little healing, cond dmg and power. I'm hoping to be built like a tank and still hit like a mack truck. I want a high crit chance so the traits will proc often to help increase my damage and still maintain decent amount of health and survivability for tanking.

I've never been an engineer, looks pretty interesting. I can't give any real constructive criticism because I have never played them but your set up looks pretty decent from what I can see.
