As I mentioned in my introduction thread, I've been a tabletop gamer since the 1970s. Got my start with wargames, added RPGS in 1978. My main games over the years were AD&D (1st edition), Traveller, Shadowrun, and lately Castles & Crusades and A Song of Ice and Fire RPG. I don't play wargames as much as I used to, but there was a time when I was playing Advanced Squad Leader once or twice a week and trekking to tournaments a couple times a year.
Anyone else into the face-to-face gaming scene? RPGs, board games, Eurogames, miniatures?

A tried DnD a couple of times, but, on both occasions, the group fell apart quickly after the first or second play-through. I don't know whether the lack of interest stemmed from a DM who glossed over the basics of the game (since all players were new to the genre), or if the players just didn't take the role-play aspect seriously. It was probably a combination of the two.
After picking up 40k over a year ago, I've been a bit more interested into the idea of more general table top gaming. I'm unfamiliar with all of your examples. Are any of them playable with two players only?

I'm very much a table-top player. My main character in GW2 (and the username for this forum ;P) comes from a tabletop game.
Currently, I'm running a 3.5 D&D game set in Eberron, playing in a Shadowrun game, and playing in/writing a unique system (I'm a professional game designer, so the DM trusts me to balance the sub-systems I handle).

Well, not much to tell, I'm a double major in Interactive Media and Game Development and Professional writing (graduated). I worked for Big Huge Games (before 38 Studios went *implode*), and worked on level design for Marine Training Sims (I wound up presenting one to the Secretary of the Navy). While I'm currently looking for work atm, I think I've got a pretty good chance of getting into Bethesda Softworks doing quest design. I'm also getting some of my college research into adaptive QA methods published in May. Long story short...developing games...it's kinda my thing Part of the reason some of Anet's recent design decisions have me /facepalming.

I am a pen and paper gamer! *stands proudly before the crowd...soon realizing I forgot something vital and ducks behind a barrel* I have been playing DnD for just over ten years now. I've played a few other systems...most notably MechWarrior. I am running a game right now and am playing in two other games... my husband's and his brother's. Let the good dice roll!
