I know myself as well as a number of Jadites are of the college-age variety. It's midterms week for me, and I'm a horrible procrastinator. Was wondering who is majoring/has majored in what? I'm majoring in Computer Information Systems and plan to graduate December 2013 with my Bachelor's Feel free to discuss other College stuff here too

Long ago, in a time when big-haired mallbunnies roamed the Earth, I was a mechanical engineering major. Then came The Year Of Very Bad Decisions, which was followed by The Very Very Bad Year. I shifted to electronics engineering technology, but kept taking the science and math I'd need to get back to engineering. Then Stuff Happened, and I didn't take anything for a while.
A few years later, my wife (one of the Things That Happened) discovered that I only needed the second half of freshman English to get my AA, so I knocked that out.
I ponder starting up school again to get a bachelor's from time to time, but I don't need it career-wise, so that will probably wait until my kids are done with their undergrad degrees in about 6 years. If I do go back, I almost certainly won't get an IT degree, though - it will be something like History, or Asian Studies.

I went to college initially for Diesel Maintenance Technology because certifications look good on resumes; plus it's nice to get formal education on the job you do ;-) Then MY bad decision making years happened (which I am still recovering from and in the midst of) and I changed professions. And by professions I mean whatever job I could get.
Then I tried to focus on my studies and changed my major to Psychology with a minor in Child Development to be a child therapist. I am currently 1 year away from my BS, but can't afford (time and money wise) to go back so it's going to sit on the back burner for now.

Yeah, those earlier classes can be tough to power through. Just remember: you would have had to take gen ed classes anywhere, and you're saving so much money by hitting up community college.
So much money.

It's about that time again! On Monday the 6th, I have a programming assignment due (those nasty things I always complain about being hard on my brain), and my second midterm in Micro-economics. Naturally, I'm procrastinating, so my decline in online presence won't start declining until... Friday or Saturday.

Hope the project is going the way you want it to, V! And have a great time this weekend camping. Lots of dungeons to do before you log on Friday then, definitely
