So I spent about four hours today making ruins out of foamboard. When I say ruins, I mean two walls.
I am so proud of myself.

I spent that time making a small bunker set, it's harder than you'd think. Terrain is serious business. Anyone else interested in/ play 40k. I know we have a few people joining that are into the hobby.
I play space marines/ blood angels and am now working on Tau.

Not yet, they're still on back order at the moment. Trust me, you'll know when I get them.

Really nice stuff.
I used to play 40k...many, many years ago.../cough Second Edition /cough. I used ceiling panels and cut them into landscape. By beveling the edges with a razor, I could make hill sections that could be stacked or arranged into many different landscapes. Each layer was close enough to one scale meter to work out really well.
I'll post some shots of the miniatures I painted. Ahhh, the good old days when miniatures were made of lead.

I actually a few old 2e Nid models from back in the day, since I picked up a few Tyranids right as the Nid 3rd edition Codex came out, but I really only just got back into it a year and a half ago or so. I mostly like the theme of the guy's army. It's a display board of his GK/SW allies Drop Podding and Deep Striking in. Really cool! I'd be interested in a more in-depth description or link to a guide on how you made your terrain. I'm not quite crafty enough yet.
