I was talking to Raijin about how hard it is for Rangers to be effective in WvW, so I'll just be putting some stuff in here to help put the information in one place.
The Build:
www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mco9oogav0ogav9cxaxo0qcm0b8070V7kIM70V
Points of note:
-you can use either Empathetic Bond or Barkskin for your Grandmaster Survival Trait. I think Empathetic Bond is more popular.
-the Master Traits are left blank at the moment, since it really depends on what you want
-You don't have to use Signet of the Wild as a utility, but I do highly recommend Lightning Reflexes and Quickening Zephyr.
Pets:
Use two canines, one of which should be a Wolf. Arctic Wolves are pretty good for a secondary thanks to the chill-howl.
The Gear:
Either Full Clerics or full Apothecaries. Clerics is if you intend on doing more Pysical damage, whereas Apothecaries is for a condition build. For instance, Greatsword+Longbow would use Clerics, while Shortbow+Axe/Torch would use Apothecaries.
The Strategy:
Outlast and do damage with your pet. Rangers don't have that great of escapes in WvW (Swoop is okay if you can manage to de-target, and Signet of the Hunt gives 25% movspeed), so we can't disengage as well as other professions. Healing Spring is a massive burst heal with the 1200-1300 healing power you'll have, on top of regeneration lasting perpetually. Think of Healing Spring as a fight-reseter.
The nice thing is just about any weapon can work with this set up.
If you have any questions let me know. I'll answer what I can.
