After getting my butt kicked the other night in WvW with my squishy Elementalist, I am looking for advice from any experienced Ele out there. I'm really looking for some more survivability.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

One of the most common Elementalist builds for any form of PvP is something like:
0/0/10/30/30
Healing Power Gear (I'm not sure which is the best for Ele PvP unfortunately)
Dagger/Dagger
I'm not quite as familiar with Ele PvP as I am with other classes, so I'm not as familiar with rune/sigil choices, but that's what I've heard talk about being strong for Eles.

If I were going to run an ele WvW build it would be 0/0/20/30/20 most likely. but the ten point that I'd be putting in earth could very easily be switched to arcane and it would still be incredibly useful. Apothecaries armor would probably be a good way to go, but i haven't done a lot of testing with it. This is mostly because you'll still have survivability with the toughness and healing power boosts and you can nickle and dime people down with your conditions, which you'll be getting a boost to with apothecaries armor as well. Clerics would also be another choice but since it's relying on power and you wouldn't be stacking any sort of power with a 0/0/x/x/x build it would be a lot harder to kill people with.
Just as a basic idea, My ele runs around in wvw with clerics armor and 0/0/30/20/20, with a staff mind you (the worst in terms of pvp weapons on an ele) and I rarely die. Too tanky and with the heals boost it's silly. Thing is I will very rarely actually kill someone. It mostly becomes an impass, (if i was wielding scepter dagger or dual daggers it would be different) but that is one build you could look at doing. Once again though heavy earth will require you use your conditions more than your raw power skills.
