So I started the thief and kinda burned out, went back to ranger--went meh and started the engineer. I have to say i like the boom boom boom pew pew pew boom pew jump dodge whee!--eh hem I have enjoyed the class up through 25 but I'm starting to get a little stymied. i'm wondering if its my build and would appreciate suggestions on others to try. i was expecting turrets to be much more crowd controlling than they turned out to be and am starting to think they need to just go away completely.

ive got my engi at 64 tonite. I rarely use the turrets, although ive found the net turret that drops with the supply crate to be nice at times. I have used flame turret for close up and so it doesnt pick wrong target like rifle turret does. the turrets are incredibly weak. there is a build i noticed that you can add health and regen to your turrets. After lvl 40 i spread my trait points around and i had some decent vit. but i was really squishy. Since i hit 60 ive focused my trait points in power, toughness, precision. and i like it waaaay better.

gw2skills.net/editor/?fcQQJAqelspSXnqynF17ISoHSIopWiU8YU2HFyVbB;TIADOmQAModifications i'm planning for a bomb bunker build i saw on youtube. Been playing with this and am getting close to 60. I want to see what the healing capabilities are before I start deciding on armor. Bomb kit is rather imba in PvE, and that is by no means a complaint. Run in a figure 8 and press 1, melee mobs will just chase you and die. Have been alternating Rocket Turret and Flame. The turrets are useful in PvE as a camping tool for a single area. What they hit is less important than that they are always firing at something. Good in point defense when you're in the pre-70 zones for events. For ensured fire on specific targets, I use flameT on a ranged attacker. While they will move away from you, I've found that they do not move away from the turrets. Allows you to clean up the melee range (described above) while alternating with pistol attacks to the ranged foes. Been killing level 63+ mobs in Sparkfly with this, and its as strong as the necro minion bomber build previously posted without the drawbacks of a horde. Much more movement focused. I'm evading a lot so those extra bombs in explosives see plenty of use. I expect to have 60 tonight and will update this post on how HoT actually works. From what i've seen online, it could potentially rival my Guardian for team support...once its fully specced ofc. Worrying that i've specced too heavy in explosives. Could drop 10 from that and put it into firewarms, give my pistol a boost. Very interested to know if sig intelligence works with kits as a swap. If it does, that would be quite powerful. gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelspSXnvynF27ISoHSohpWiU8YU2HFyVbB;TIADOmlAWvW modification, untested. I think that the +90 for shields works whether you have a kit equipped or not. unsure though. the skill regen procs but I think thats because you must have the pistol/shiled equipped to use a skill, and swapping to bombs does not affect cooldowns once they are on active cooldown... update @60+ Wow. Facetanking risen in several missions and multi melee characters in events. Turrets remain a nice little touch if I want to retain a presence in one area while remaining active in another (ex drop supply crate and 2 turrets on one side of a camp to actively defend another during some events. The HoT doesn't seem like much but its presence is much felt when you add kiting and judicious dodging. updates to follow as level progresses. I'm not killing anything crazy fast, but the sheer number of mobs the build can handle in level 60 zones (no runes, just lvl 60 armor atm) is impressive.
