Hey Jaded folks  Just joined the guild today with a friend of mine. We've been playing GW2 since release and prior to that ran in WoW for quite a while. One part of our MMO experience we miss with GW2 is the close knit group we ran with each week for raiding in WoW. To that end we'd like to see if there are a few like minded individuals who would be willing to commit to a scheduled weekly dungeon run team. Right now we were thinking Wednesday nights at 8:00 central time. Basically we want to finish all the dungeons on story mode and then move on to doing explorable modes until we get them all done. From what I've seen so far the guild is very helpful and I'm sure I could call out in guild chat and find willing members to run most times but for those of us who have wives, kids, etc which limits our playing time it's very helpful to have a scheduled time to log on and know you'll have a team ready to go for this type of content. If this sounds like your cup-o-tea feel free to reply to this thread. I'm sure over the next few weeks we'll be calling out for help in guild chat as well until we get a consistent team going. Great responses already. First, understand if you can't make it all the time. No one can know they'll be free every Wed @ 8. Once we establish the team though I would expect a heads up in advance if you think you'll be out. Just gives us time to find a replacement for that week. As for our first run, we can discuss on Wed but I'd assume we'll start at the lowest lev dungeon that any team member needs and work our way from there. Expectation would also be that each member is online ready to go at 8 (please have vent) so we can get as much done as possible. Usually we'd run for about 2 hrs. We'll likely try for a run tomorrow 1-1-13 and see how it goes.

I have vent but I honestly prefer to type out my responses over trying to talk at my computer screen. That won't be too much of a problem, would it? Also, you seem a decent fellow I hate to die. |

Not a problem your choice. As long as you have vent so you can hear what the rest of us are saying and participate. Type or talk is ok by me.

That does put a damper on our relationship (FYI for team members Kirha is my friend who jumped servers with me to join Jaded and will be on the team as well) |

Well hoping we'll get our first run in tonight. Ulricht, Rosette and Kashedy along with Kira and myself will make up the 5 and hopefully we'll have some good luck. We'll discuss which dungeon we run on vent at 8. If anyone is unable to make it we'll advertise in guild chat to see if we can fill the group. Looking forward to getting a good run in.

I can't seem to find the post where vec talked about this exact subject. But i remember him saying something to the degree where he or someone else had a raid group in wow they got close knit and eventually left the guild to make their own raid guild. What has been done in the past is just say in guild chat hey who is up up for this dungeon or who is looking to run dungeons and you will get plenty of responses

Yes, I remember that post as well... This is only 1 small group of 5 people that would just be choosing a particular time to dungeon, however. I doubt it would affect the rest of the guild in any meaningful way. In a relatively safe guilding atmosphere such as this, people tend to lean towards whatever play style is most comfortable to them regardless of whether there are 'raiding' groups or not. If anyone starts being pushy, for some reason, and demands that everyone else 'raid', then I could see that as a problem. Plus, WoW is WoW and GW2 is GW2. The huge raids of WoW did bring with them certain problems which might not exist here.

As far as I'm concerned, you guys don't need my permission to run a dungeon. Just know that Jaded has no intention of officially setting aside times for runs or other in-game activities other than the occasional lighthearted party. Jaded is set up to be a casual, friendly environment for everybody, not an isolated group of elitist players who only run with 'their clique'. There are plenty of other guilds who already have pre-set times for daily dungeons; this is simply one of the many ways that Jaded is built to stand out, and, in my opinion, excel as a community. But this thread isn't about V's philosophy; it's about getting some Jadites together to run dungeons. If you have any specific questions for me in regards to what I have said, please either talk to me in private or bring it up in our Guild Improvement thread, which is where the topic was discussed last, if my memory isn't failing me. |

Yeah this isn't necessarily about making a team to be elite or seclusional (not really a word). It is more about busy adults with families setting aside one night a week where we say, "We are playing GW2 tonight." Then the other nights of the week become optional for us. We don't mean to separate ourselves from the guild in fact if we had more than 5 I could see 2 or more groups running. We are just basically saying "We would like to run dungeons on Wed. feel free to join us." |
