Last night, in guild chat, we were talking about fractals and how everyone is only doing fractals. Orr seems more or less deserted while players are farming fractals for ascended gear.
During our discussion, I remembered reading this interview/quote, while catching up on GW2 forums, regarding ascended gear and how I believe that Anet will be making ascended gear available in other parts of the world along with fractals.
So instead of copying/pasting several portions into guild chat, the whole interview is available, in the link provided, for interested Jadites. This is an interview with Anet's Chris Whiteside. Chris is the Studio Design Director at Anet. While many things stand out in this interview, my primary focus is in regards to our /g discussion last night.
For those who want the TL;DR version:
Player Q: Will it become easier to obtain ascended gear in the future?
Chris Whiteside A: Ascended gear will be obtainable throughout the whole of the game aside from sPvP and in retrospect it would have been better to have rolled different acquisition methods out at the smae time os the FotM.
