Not sure how I feel about this.
I feel like making precursors easier to obtain will upset a lot of people.
That being said, I want my sword.

what do they mean by precursors? Like the 250 orichalcum and 50 million other supplies or what? more obtainable is good yes but I hope they don't over do it. if everyone has a legendary it kinda loses the majesty of it

I'm not sure how to feel about it either because a legendary should have a legendary process... I guess once the changes come through, we'll see just how much of an impact it has on acquisition. Legendary precursors are exotic weapons used to create legendary weapons and are usually obtained through the mystic forge by combining 4 like items. To obtain the Dawn or Dusk precursor, I would need 4 level 76 or higher rare/exotic Greatswords to combine in the mystic forge. The drop rate is very low so throwing rares/exotics into the forge hoping for a precursor is a lottery. From what I've read, there is also a chance to obtain precursors from chests for capturing Temples in Orr or defeating Claw of Jormag, which doesn't help if it isn't the precursor you need but could make some coin in TP. I want my sword too  |

Spiffy thanks for the info Zooey. Yeah the swords and the staffs just happen to be the most expensive precursors too, wouldn't you know. I feel like if I got the staff precursor as a drop though I'd just sell it

Specifically, the precursors whose names I know by heart are:
-Dawn is the precursor for Sunrise
-Dusk is the precursor for Twilight

considering The Legend currently would cost me almost 400 gold. I will put all the work into this i need to but that's not achievable to me. I just hope they don't make it too easy, make it hard to get but not gold.
A recipe to make the exotic would be a simple solution.

To be honest 400g is a realistic option as is the methods of achieving said weapons through Mystic Forge and Orr Chests. I have personally never heard any rumor of Jormag's chest dropping any legendary precursor as Jormag's chest actually drops the exotic weapons such as Jormag's Needle (http://www.gw2db.com/items/67100-jormags-needle-of-the-hydromancer) as well as the Shaman Etched weapons (http://www.gw2db.com/items/46354-shamans-etched-avenger) used in to make Corrupted weapons (http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/10749-corrupted-avenger)
TL:DR
I like the legendary process the way it is right now, I feel that the goal is very possible and is a process to be achieved over time. Also to my knowledge the Jormag event drops many exotic weapons but not legendary Precursors.

I don't know, if they made it a recipie, it would just end up needed 4 stacks of 250 t6 mats, likely including 250 Ori Ingots and 250 Ecto.
It's always going to be about money.

I hope they don't make it too easy to get the pre's because, like it's been said already, legendary's are called that for a reason and they might lose their appeal if every Tom, Dick, and Harry is walking around with one. I know they're hard to get, but that's part of the appeal, for me at least.
