So the idea is to get a bunch of jaded guildies together to run around known areas of Tyria and farm monsters and events that drop nice and rare materials and weapons. The idea of having a big party is to increase the probability of getting a better drop. The plan was to have these farming parties monday-thursday at like 6-7pm est seeing as a good amount of our guild is on around that time. This also leaves the weekends open for other guild events like dungeon runs and so on.
If anyone else has any ideas feel free to share them. =) always open to ideas.

V, Rae, or Shira could possibly promote this through daily messages. Or at least give a tidbit of info and push non-forum users to forums to check out the details My suggestion only involves a specific meeting waypoint every night and starting on-time. Consistency is a good thing so as this becomes a reliable way to farm with guildies, participation will probably increase over time. Thanks, Gen! This will be a good thing

Yup I like your idea about the waypoint meeting and at a specific time. The waypoint will also be dependent on what we feel like farming and some of the choices i can come up with right now will be Orr event farming, elemental farming, and destroyer farming. I threw Orr event farming out there because i was running with a huge zerg one night with shira and ended up getting like 5 rares within an hour it was really nice =).

Wow, that is nice! Agree with you about the farming choices we have. My first thought goes to Orr farming too Also, we should consider diminishing returns and make sure guildies are aware of this mechanic. I'm not sure about the time limit as to when DR kicks in for a player. From what I've read, it ranges anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. As long as guildies are aware of this, they will hopefully have options to switch to another character. You know?

I will definantly do what I can to help out with this. As far as my knowledge and personal experiences go, the coding seems to enable at 2 hours exactly, however zergs move so much so fast that the coding never takes effect.

Just to add to this thread, we do have 10% guild magic find up and running 24/7, and for these farming parties we can add an additional 10% magic find via a guild banner easily (I believe we have 5 saved up at the moment).

I love how GW2 made being in a guild rewarding with options like MF and kill xp.

Sounds like a good idea, now we just have to get it enacted. And I suppose we've finally found a use for those banners V
