It was a guardian build at one point, but I think I've just made the same mistake twice.... The build two posts up is my current Ranger build, which I copy pasted from the first post in this thread with the intent of simply using the editor. Third time's the charm, eh? gw2skills.net/editor/?fUEQRAsf7dlUgiC33RLEfIFS2jCEBVQLFAECVVIewKgRA;T4AZWCnkOpeS5EVWmsEZZzyllMrlIjMmCAIt's been a while since I linked a build... I forgot that I had to use the URL at the bottom of the editor, not the one in my address bar. Which is why I linked your build and then my build respectively.

Recently we had been chatting about Ranger weapons. Specifically the sword/torch as I've been having a great time leveling up with that set. V, you had mentioned the bugs about that set and I hadn't experienced or noticed it yet and that's probably because I wasn't entirely challenged while leveling Now I'm getting into Orr... definitely feeling a little more challenged and it's important to consider how I handle battle. I have finally experienced being rooted with sword! I just wanted to share that here for others to know about. At least until it gets fixed. I haven't tried turning auto-attack off to see if that band-aids the issue but definitely annoying when fighting in Orr. At any rate, I'll probably be moving on to GS as I continue to level and before I do, I was wondering what your thoughts are in regards to the most recent update to rangers?

Yeah, the sword isn't "bugged" per say, the problem is the second and third attacks in the chain have a leap component, and you can't dodge roll while leaping. It's not annoying until things can one shot you. Turning off auto attack CAN help, but, as a whole, it's a net dps loss since you can't spam 1 fast enough.

This is what I've mostly settled into with my Guardian: gw2skills.net/editor/?fUEQRAsf7dlUgiC33RLEfIFSmiVCBteAQIk/UVIewKgRAThe idea is to use my Virtue's frequently. Virtue of Justice refreshes on mob kill, blinds when I pop it, causes a stack of Vulnerability when I pop it, and grants me 3 stacks of Might when I pop it. Resolve cures three of my conditions, which is great synergy with "Save Yourselves!" since I can take all the debuffs and cure them. Courage is just great, since I can pop it to protect all nearby allies from boss AoEs (Kholer's pull, anyone?). The shouts are great team utility as well. My plan is to build a full set of Berserker's Gear. Going 30 into Radiance gives me a hidden 15% bonus to my crit chance while wielding 1handed weapons (which I always use). At the moment, the only thing really tripping me up is my Runes and Signets. On my Ranger it was an easy choice: "What gives me the most survivability?" I'm only using Ruby Orbs in my slots at the moment, since they're cheap, and I'm not in exotics, but I need a general idea of where to go once I get my Exotics. Naturally, some of the better damage runes are Scholer, Ogre, etc, but I may want more beef? Maybe Soldier? Actually, isn't there a rune that interacts with shouts? Decisions, decisions.

So many options for runes on guardian! Superior rune of the Soldier at level 6: Shouts remove a condition. That's the only rune I know of that affects shouts. I've thought about using Soldier and haven't ruled it out.. it would be good hp, good armor.. I wonder about the loss in healing. Really kinda hoping you try out Beserker's with Soldier runes.. so curious! On survivability, have you checked out runes like: Superior Rune of the Earth: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_the_EarthSuperior Rune of the Grove: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_the_GroveSuperior Rune of the Monk: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_the_MonkOf course, you know that the boon duration is increased by 15% with two monk runes. Equipping 2 Major Rune of the Monk will get an additional 10% boon duration OR 2 Major Rune of Sanctuary (that you were telling me about last night) .

Are you thinking of going all the way up to 6/6 on Flame Legion? What about Superior Rune of the Flame Legion x2 for the 15% burn duration and then focus on condition damage with Superior Rune of Divinity x4? hehe, you know I really want some Divinity Runes for a power set xD. Super expensive but if you're going towards condition damage you'd get the 15% burn duration and then what.. roughly 12% condition damage, I think. Could be fun! Purging flames is fun for burning builds along with Judge's Intervention (both utilities). The armor might change towards Carrion though. Just throwing stuff out there and seeing if it sticks

Yeah, I actually just starting thinking about how much more effective Divinity runes would be too...
The idea is to take the Flame Legion runes 6/6 for the 5% damage increase to burning foes, and to keep my burning up easier thanks to the 15% duration. The runes are, at its heart, Power runes, so I think they'd work ok with Berserker's gear.
That being said... Divinity's runes T_T
